Going out to pick up trash at the lake was a very freeing. It felt good to know that I was helping the environment and probably saved some animals. It really upsets me when I see animals try to eat trash, so picking up all the plastic and cigarette butts felt like I was saving a life. I know having trash collect on the side of the road may be easier than keeping it in your car and then throwing it away, but if you think about it, you’re saving the environment. I like cleaning anyway, so I actually really enjoyed myself. I plan on going back and cleaning up more parts of Farmville, and I’ll be sure to bring my friends. A clean world is a happy world, and we need to take care of the place we live, instead of making it a huge mess. Everyone should perform some civic engagement, because in the end, you’ll end up feeling better about yourself, too.
